Program Description

The Graduate Landscape Architecture Studies: Design minor offers a unique opportunity to engage graduate students with expertise in design or with interest in its processes from Architecture [AAP] but also from CALS, and other colleges. This minor will provide students with a strong foundation in the core principles, skills, and design practices of landscape architecture. Over the years, non-MLA students have consistently participated in our studios, technical courses, and seminars, and this trend continues today. The minor would formalize and strengthen this ongoing engagement, further integrating non-MLA graduate students into our academic community. Non-MLA students, whether they bring design experience or a strong desire to engage in landscape design, add substantial value, energy, and diversity to our program, enriching the learning environment for all involved.

Admission requirement

Although the minor is open to all, an academic & personal statement is necessary [1000 words]. For petition to enroll to advanced studios a brief portfolio is required. Admission can be regulated according to our program’s capacities and needs. Accepted students will be assigned an advisor from our faculty, initially the MLA Director of Graduate Studies.
