Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University prepares students to understand and analyze weather and climate systems. The program offers experience in interpreting and forecasting meteorological events. Students work hands-on with weather and climate models, datasets and state of the art analysis software. Many students engage in undergraduate research.

Academic Standards

  • All major requirements must be taken for a letter grade
  • Students must have at least a C- or above in all courses taken for the Atmospheric Science major
  • Courses satisfying the requirements for the atmospheric science major may not be taken S/U

Additional Program Information

  • Atmospheric sciences courses are offered through the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS).
  • First-year and transfer students are admitted directly into the major and most pre-requisites will be met by virtue of the requirements for admission.
