Campus Crime Statistics
The Cornell University Annual Security Report, which includes Clery Act crime statistics, can be found on the Division of Public Safety website. The Public Safety Advisory Committee will provide upon request all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. You can contact the Clery Compliance Director at cjs364@cornell.edu to request statistics. The Department of Education crime statistics database is available online.
Cornell Police
The Cornell University Police Department is an internationally accredited organization that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from its headquarters in Barton Hall. The mission of Cornell Police is to protect lives and property, maintain order, prevent crimes, receive and investigate reports of crimes, and provide other law-enforcement services.
Community Response Team
The Community Response Team (CRT) operates as an alternative and co-response team serving any individual on Cornell University’s main campus in Ithaca, NY. The team provides support to individuals in distress or crisis, helping them navigate challenges and connect with appropriate resources.
Cornell Public Safety Communications
The Cornell Division of Public Safety operates its own 911 center. The Public Safety Communications Center operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year. The Center dispatches emergency and non-emergency incidents for the Cornell Community for Cornell University Police Department, Cornell Environmental heath and Safety, Cornell Emergency Medical Service, Community Response team, and the Public Safety Ambassadors.
